Simon founded CALPRO GLOBAL after two decades working across calibration laboratories and metrology programs in Asia and beyond. What is measurement uncertainty, and why does ISO 17025 require it?
Measurement uncertainty quantifies the doubt in every calibration result — the range within which the true value is expected to fall. ISO 17025 clause 7.6 requires accredited labs to identify every contributor (equipment, environment, method, operator) and calculate a defensible uncertainty budget for each parameter on their scope of accreditation.
Do you offer calculators for specific instruments, or just general templates?
Both. The toolkit includes general-purpose uncertainty budget templates and an ISO 17025 document checklist, plus calculators built around common calibration parameters like dimensional, mass, temperature, and pressure. If your lab works with a less common parameter, our consulting team can help you build a custom budget from scratch.
